So the bridesmaid dresses finally came in!! I was a little worried about them. In my mind I pictured a very dark shimmery pewter. I got a dress in "vintage silver" which sounds exactly right!! and the LITTLE TINY rectangle of fabric looked just perfect, too.
I picked them up yesterday. I guess they are ok. They aren't very dark. And the shoes I had all the girls get are BRIGHT PINK. They look awesome alone but after seeing them with the dress...meh... I just think one of the two should've been darker. I was hoping the dresses would look very J. Kennedy. But this particular color in the huge size they sent Madison... it was just dowdy looking. So. Cross your fingers for after they get altered... Sigh...
HOWEVER. The men are going to look super dashing. Hot pink ties. Oh yes. The funny thing is, I didn't pick pink. In the start of this, I wanted the colors to be the silver-ish with pink AND green (now everything is pewter and pink). Tommy and I were trying to figure out how to afternoonize/casualize the tuxes for the guys. He called up one night and here's how our conversation went...
T: So I thought of a good way to make the tuxes less formal
M: Oh good! What were you thinking??
T: We could have a colored vest instead of the black
M: Oh... so like... Silver?
T: Um I was thinking more of a color color... What color would look good with what we have?
M: Well, since everything's pink and green... I guess we could do green? That's more of the manly color...
T: Oo that will be a lot of green...
M: So I guess... the pink would be the other option?
T: Yes, yes I think pink would be good.
See?! The guys should not blame me. But the good thing is.... Tommy looks really good in pink.
