I will try and let you know what all has been going on since the November 4th post.
But Tommy posted!!! YAY! We really did like that guy that pulled out. Kim and I wanted him to get picked first. How sad we are.
So after we drove all the way back, we were texted by Kim and Jon reminding us that Chipotle offers cheap burritos on Halloween if you dress up like a burrito! Where I come from and where they come from, if you put on aluminum foil, you wait in a line for an hour, and get a completely free meal. But in Gainesville, the burritos are actually 2 bucks and no one seems to know?? So they let us know that there was no line and they had foil for us. We got to eat and hang out with them, another married couple, and a group of the college kids we're getting close to. So nice, but we had a pumpkin to carve!
Yes, we waited until Halloween night to carve a Jack-o-latern. But we were just running around and being so busy and fun that we had put it off. We left the dinner party a little early and prepared to carve. And in the end, it looked AWESOME. Just for Tommy, we made a beautiful script A for Bama. Check out the facebook pics!
Then, (almost) the whole group from Chipotle came over to chill at our apartment! We sat around and chatted and listened to guitar playing.... so nice.
It has started feeling more homey here. We have had friends come over a lot to play games, and we've each gone to girls and guys nights where we get to really know our new friends. When we moved, we discussed wanting to get involved with college kids- God has just plopped this right in our laps! On top of that, we have felt more connected to our small group. Tommy and I have been sharing more about what God has been doing in our lives, and we have been appreciating hearing from others so much more now that we know them a little better.
We ALSO got to have a party night with a bunch of the young married couples. There was one couple who had been married 3 months, so we were second in line as newly weds. And of course, we had to play a version of the newly-wed game. We didn't do THAT badly! I think we just have changing ideas and opinions about things so answers aren't cut and dry for us yet. Which is a good thing :) Not that I'm trying to give us excuses.
But you know we were the coolest couple there.
Did you play some phase 10? I sense a
ReplyDeletepattern of playin that game in your house...
