We spent a wonderful week after Christmas in Huntsville. We ate dinner with friends, both had Starbucks dates with other friends, and got to hang a lot with family. And then we were flown back to Gainesville :) Tommy then got to go to the Alabama game in Orlando with his friends he hadn't seen since the wedding. He really enjoyed watching his team crush another one, and being with the friends he went to Bama with!
I tell you what. Long breaks are nice, but it is just so hard to start getting up early again and spending all day at work. Your brain and your body and your emotions fight you! It's a good thing Tommy is such a motivated, hard worker, and a very bossy person in the mornings. Otherwise, I would not have gotten out of bed.
So we got back into the swing of things. Then, I got to see one of my friends! We became really close in middle and high school in Savannah, and we've stayed close- she was in my wedding, and I was in hers. Actually, I was the maid of honor in hers (oh yeah. be jealous.) and she got to come visit! Well, actually, she was really heading to Orlando (yes, apparently all old friends go to Orlando). See, she has gotten really into running and was headed to do the half marathon at Disney! This was mentioned in an old post a while ago.... I think at the time I wrote about it, Tommy was thinking about joining her and we were all going to rent a house or something. Well, that didn't really happen. But the new plan was she was going to drop her doggy off with us, and then come spend the night with us on their way back through Gainesville.
That dog was the coolest. Apparently he does not like to pee, poo, or walk. He would draaaaag us back inside after he had gone once for the whole day. The funny thing was, he wasn't really sure which door was ours. They do all look the same. We kept getting dragged every single wrong door. And when that happens, you start laughing, which makes you weaker, so you get pulled even more! So fun. And he liked to sleep under our bed. I don't know how he found room under there... We have very small closets, and no storage areas. So all of our shoes are in those stupid "ShoesUnder" things. I hate them. But they take up a lot of room, and it probably does not smell really good...
And then Lindsey and her husband and their friends came back! We took them to Five Guys for lunch, and then took them to a park where we played cards and Catch Phrase (so good). We hung out some at the apartment and made idiots out of ourselves on Jon and Kim's Kinect dance game, and then took them to Chipotle (YAY) ... then we visited a yogurt place (I guess I'm the only one who thinks it's gross) ....and back to the apartment for some good ol' fashioned competition in Cranium. Which Tommy and I lost. MAN.
